GWCA’s Sponsored Star for December
Meet GWCA’s Sponsored Star for December, Cody! Cody is an active seven year old who can’t wait to find his Forever Family! He is described as being an easygoing and introverted boy who is always helping out with the younger kiddos. Cody’s file indicates that he had a hernia when he was younger, but received surgery and has been doing much better ever since. He attends school on weekdays, and has great self-care abilities! As our Sponsored Star, Cody has a $2,000 grant available towards his adoption fees! If you are interested in learning how you can be matched with this little guy, visit our China Waiting Child Photo Listing or contact our China Matching Team today!
What is a Sponsored Star?
On the 1st of each month, Great Wall China Adoption will feature one of the kiddos from our Orphanage Partnerships as our monthly “Sponsored Star!” As our Sponsored Star, that child will be provided a $2,000 grant towards their adoption fees! Each of the kiddos selected will be a Special Focus child, meaning they have not found their Forever Family yet due to their age, or the degree of their needs. Together, we can find loving homes for these amazing kids!
We encourage any families interested in learning more about our Sponsored Star of the Month to visit our China Waiting Child Photo Listing, or contact our China Matching Specialists to learn how you can be matched today! Check back on the first of each month to meet the newest featured child!

Hi there! My name is Aaron and I will be 2 years old this December! I have some high muscular tension in my legs but I don’t let this stop me from being a happy kiddo! I live with a foster family and have been doing very well. I started receiving rehabilitation services last year and have made great progress. I love being held and playing with other kiddos. My file indicates that I’m a chatty little guy that’s always babbling! This isn’t all the information about me so contact my friends at Great Wall if you’d like to review my file!

Check out my NEW video! Hi there! My name is Molly and I am 11 years old. I was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, but some nice doctor’s gave me a surgery to fix it and I’m feeling much better now! I am in school and my teachers say that I am diligent, quick to react and have good habits in class. I love pretty stationary and cute dolls. I have great self-care skills such as getting up and brushing my teeth, washing my face and getting dressed for school in the morning without anyone having to tell me to. I eat normal food just like all of my friends such as noodles, wontons and vegetables. Sometimes other kids make fun of my speech because I don’t always talk clearly, but that doesn’t stop me from being a happy, funny girl! I am an active girl and I like helping my caretakers care for the younger children in the orphanage. You can contact my friends at Great Wall if you would like to learn more about adopting me! I hope my friends at Great Wall find my Forever Family soon!
Nine Kids are Heading Home!
What an exciting week this is for several of our families in the China Adoption process–nine kids have been united with their Forever Families, and will be traveling home with them just in time for Thanksgiving!
The holiday season is a time to surround yourself with family and loved ones, and it is truly wonderful to be able to say that each of these kiddos now has a family of their very own! While there are moments in the adoption process that can be frustrating, it all comes down to that moment when you get to hold your child in your arms and you know that is where they have always belonged.
Congratulations to each of these families from all of us at GWCA and CAN. We are so incredibly happy for you and the amazing children that you’re welcoming into your families.
For any families that are interested in learning more about our China Adoption program, please feel free to contact our China Matching Specialists, or visit our Waiting Child Photo Listing to learn how you can begin your adoption journey today!

Hi there! My name is Eli and I am 8 months old. I have something called an anal atresia, and some nice doctor’s gave me a surgery on my intestines and I feel much better now. My caretakers say that I am a cute, smart, active baby that is often laughing and smiling. I like to play with brightly colored toys that make sounds. I am fond of listing to music. I will turn to look when a sound is made and I can visually follow moving objects. I really enjoy pulling off my socks. I can hold my head up when I’m lying on my stomach, I can sit up alone for a few moments by myself and when my caretakers hold my armpits I can stand up. I am trying really hard right now to roll over and crawl. I can easily hold objects like blocks in my hands and I like to bang the blocks together to make noise. My file was just recently prepared and is pretty up-to-date. You can contact my friends at Great Wall if you would like to learn more about adopting me! I hope my friends at Great Wall find my Forever Family soon!

Hi there! My name is Jason and I am 2 years old! I was born with Cerebral Palsy but I don’t let this stop me from being a happy kiddo! I am receiving rehabilitation services and seem to be improving! My file indicates that I am a sensible little guy that rarely gets upset. I love listening to music and playing outside the most. I need some help walking but I can stand on my own with a little support. This isn’t all the information about me so contact my friends at Great Wall if you’d like to learn more about me!

Check out my video 1!Hi there! My name is Esme and I just recently turned 3 years old. My doctor’s tell me that I have cerebral palsy and my lower limbs are weaker, but that I am doing well cognitively and developmentally in other areas. My caretakers say that I am introverted. I like brightly colored toys the most and I enjoy when my caretakers teach me new things. When my caretaker talks to me about the pictures on the wall I like to point at them to indicate my interest. When my caretakers repeat new words to me, like the names of different fruits, I mimic them and try to make the same sounds that they do. My file is a little outdated so my friends at Great Wall are working hard to learn more about me. You can contact my friends at Great Wall if you would like to learn more about adopting me! I hope my friends at Great Wall find my Forever Family soon!

Check out my video! Hi! My name is Holden and I am 6 years old. I was born with Down’s syndrome, but that doesn’t stop me from being a happy kiddo! I was also born with an ASD heart defect, but some nice doctors performed surgery and now my heart is working much better. I love to play with my friends, dance, and play outside! My caregivers describe me as cheerful and independent. There is even more information about me in my full file, so you can contact my friends at Great Wall if you would like to learn more about adopting me! I hope my friends at Great Wall find my Forever Family soon!
