Hi there! My name is Atlas and I just turned 4 years old. I was born with a heart that was a little different than some of my friends, but some nice doctors gave me a surgery and I feel much better now! I am currently crawling and walking with one hand held and I like to be very active. I am very happy when I get to play outside and swing on the wings. I am very observant of other people and I imitate their facial expressions and sounds they make. I like playing with building blocks and rummaging through the toy chest for new things to play with. I enjoy standing in front of the mirror and making funny faces or wearing clothes that are too big for me and laughing when they fall off. I love playing outside, going on walks and going swimming gin the summer. My foster parents sing and read to me at night before I go to bed and they give me cuddles too. One of my favorite snacks is dragon fruit with peanut butter on it. My foster family says that I am very clever and nice and that I understand Chinese and English. I am very curious to learn new things and I always like to go up and touch things and explore them when I see them for the first time. Great Wall China Adoption is pleased to announce that we have just signed our 12th Orphanage Partnership!
What is an Orphanage Partnership?
All around China there are countless children sitting in orphanages waiting to find their Forever Family. Typically, when a child’s file is prepared for international adoption, it is released to a shared list where agencies can request their file to help advocate for their adoption. While some of these children’s files will be requested right away, others sit on the shared list for longer periods of time with no one advocating on their behalf. However, when an orphanage creates a partnership with an adoption agency such as GWCA, they are able to send us files directly as soon as they have been prepared, rather than adding them to the shared list. This allows the us to begin advocating for each kiddo right away, giving our agency the opportunity to help connect more orphans with loving and permanent Forever Families.
Why do our Orphanage Partnerships matter to our families?
Since we are periodically receiving new children’s files from each of our 12 Orphanage Partnerships, there are constantly new smiling faces on our China Waiting Child Photo Listing! Since these kids’ files have never been on the shared list, we love giving our families the opportunity to be among the first to review their files with the hope that they can take the next step in their journey towards bringing them home forever!
As we see the number of orphanages partnering with GWCA continue to increase, families can expect to see more and more of their kiddos on our China Waiting Child Photo Listing! What is a Sponsored Star?
On the 1st of each month, Great Wall China Adoption will feature one of the kiddos from our Orphanage Partnerships as our monthly “Sponsored Star!” As our Sponsored Star, that child will be provided a $2,000 grant towards their adoption fees! Each of the kiddos selected will be a Special Focus child, meaning they have not found their Forever Family yet due to their age, or the degree of their needs. Together, we can find loving homes for these amazing kids!
