Hi there! My name is Roland and I just turned 2 years old. My doctor’s tell me that I have a blood disorder called thalassemia, but I only need a blood transfusion every several months and that I seem to be doing quite well. I like being cuddled by my caretakers and I like to play with toys in the activity room. I can walk while holding onto a railing, push open doors, can speak several words and I like to eat snacks a lot! Hi there! My name is Felicity and I am 3 years old. My doctors say that my eyes don’t work as well as some of my friends, and that I have some developmental delays because of my poor sight, but I don’t let that keep me down! My caretakers say that I have great hearing abilities and that I enjoy taking the radio off on my own and listening to the music for a long time. I am very good at mimicking the words and sounds of those around me and my caretakers say that I’m pretty good on my language development compared with the other children in my orphanage. I like to recite poems, count numbers and repeat rhymes. Sometimes I do get upset and frustrated because of my inability to see well, so I really need a Forever Family to help me and give me one-on-one attention. Hi my name is Chloe and I am 12 years old! I have Cerebral Palsy but I don’t let this stop me from smiling! I have been receiving rehabilitation services for sometime and have been progressing very well. I use a walker to get around and can demonstrate some self-care abilities. I can get dressed on my own and walk up and downstairs independently. I speak a little slower than some of my friends but my caretakers say I work very hard to improve.
